Simplified editions and licensing
iWeb offers two editions of Windows Server 2012: Standard and Datacenter.
Both offer full Windows Server functionality including the next generation Hyper-V virtualization system.
Microsoft Windows 2012 Datacenter Edition
Ideal for highly virtualized environments (with two or more virtual instances), the Datacenter Edition offers full functionality with unlimited virtual instances included in a single license. If you have two or more virtual instances, Datacenter edition is the better value of the two editions.
Microsoft Windows 2012 Standard Edition
Ideal for low density or non-virtualized environments, the Standard Edition offers the same, full functionality of the Datacenter edition but licensing is based on the number of virtual instances as well as the number of processors per server. If you have no virtualization or just one virtual instance, Standard edition is the better value of the two editions.
